Delray Rawlins and his Sussex teammates went back to bat on the second morning of their Specsavers Championship match against Kent in search of putting a dent in the 304 score reached by Kent.
Two quick wickets fell with Rawlins and Stiaan van Zyl finding themselves at the wicket with the score on 25/3, Sussex loss two more wickets and made it to Lunch with the score on 84/5, Rawlins and Luke Wright were at the wicket both players on 20 not out.
Wright was first to go after Lunch he fell for 29 and the score on 97/6, Rawlins, who was making his first-class debut, had belied his lack of experience by batting for more than two hours in the testing conditions before chased a wide delivery from Parnell, he would be the next to go for 22 and the score on 121/7, Rawlins hit three fours in his 138 minute stay at the wicket. Sussex went on to make 291 to trail by 13 runs, Ben Brown was the top scorer with 90 before being trapped LBW. Mitchell Claydon was the pick of the Kent bowlers with figures of 16-2-87-4.
Kent batted out the 25 overs remaining in the days play scoring 82/2.
