When things go bad for cricketers, the public hammer the players, but when things go bad for cricket administrators everybody skates around the real issue.
The National Cricket Coach has been interviewed by two media sources in Bermuda, and neither of them have asked the question of how and why are we in the position of needing to a retired player make the team.
The real reason that Dean Minors has been included in the squad is because the Bermuda Cricket Board - has not/did not/eliminated - a Bermudian players name from the list, with the ICC asking Bermuda to prove the player is in fact a Bermudian.
Over the years www.islandstats.com has brought to the attention of the fact that several players that have faced Bermuda have a question mark about eligibility, but it would appear everyone was OK, because it was the players being hammered and called names in the press and not the administrators who sat by and watched it all happen.
Now without representation around the table in Dubai, things are different.
The Board is always handing out suspensions when players do wrong, one can only wonder who takes the blame for this.
It is the hope that the President will make a public statement regarding the issue and what is being done to ensure this does not happen again.
