Kamau Leverock and his Cardiff MCCU teammates began a three day English MCC University Match against the Somerset County team that featured former England player Marcus Trescothick at Taunton.
Somerset won the toss and elected to bat they scored 370/6 declared after 78 overs thanks to a knock of 115 from Peter Trego and 101 from Tom Abell before both retired, Leverock took the wicket of Chris Rogers for 14 finished with figures of 19-1-81-1.
When stumps were drawn for the day Cardiff MCCU were 32/4, trailing Somerset by 338 runs with 6 wickets remaining in their first inning.
