Hemp's First Season As Coach Ends in Fourth

IslandStats.com
Former Glamorgan captain and Bermuda International David Hemp First Season as the Commonwealth Bank VicSpirit’s new head coach ended with his Women’s team finishing 4th in the 7 team Australia Women's National Cricket League.

Hemp is a qualified level four coach who had a coaching role with Australia’s team for cricketers with an intellectual disability, was an assistant with Prahran in Premier Cricket and the director of coaching at Scotch College.

Hemp’s team recorded a 10-wicket loss to New South Wales in their final game of the season.

VicSpirit coach Hemp said the final performance wasn’t a true reflection on the talent in the side.

“It was disappointing to finish that way but I still think there were a lot of positives to take out of the season,” Hemp said.

“Lots of individuals have shown a lot this year and we have plenty to build on for the future.”
