Following the ICC Americas Cricket Combine, www.islandstats.com can reveal that not one player outside the USA or Canada has made the team that will play in the West Indies Cricket Board NAGICO Super50 in January 2016.
With this news the Bermuda Cricket Board along with other Associate members in the region should be calling asking questions. The team will represent the ICC Americas, but a closer look at the team it looks as if it is a World Select.
It is no secret that the majority of the Canadian and United States of America players are from the other side of the earth, namely Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India, but not to be outdone they also have Caribbean players as well.
The Americas Region is in tatters both on and off the field and this release just shows that certain segments of the Cricketing World only want a certain group to play, this comes on the heels of the ICC Development Committee agreeing with ICC Americas to eliminate the lone international women’s tournament in the Americas region and forego a spot at the World Cup Qualifier.
