Eastern County Cup Champions Cleveland County have selected their team for the 2015 Eastern County Cup Competition’s First Round match against Challengers Bailey’s Bay.
In the 2014 match at the Sea Breeze Oval between the two teams the game ended in a draw.
Stephen Outerbridge the Bailey’s Bay captain won the toss and elected to send Cup Holders Cleveland County to bat. With rain interrupting play Cleveland County loss 7 overs of their 70 allowed to bat and they scored 228/9. Dion Stovell was the top scorer with 102 before being the 9th man out, he and Damali Bell stabilized the innings after Cleveland were 20/4 at one point and they put on 87 run 5th wicket partnership. Lateef Trott was the pick of the Bailey’s Bay bowlers with figures of 15-3-44-5. In reply Bailey’s Bay scored 108/3 before rain halted play at 6:40pm. Terryn Fray was the top scorer with 58, while Tre Manders chipped in with 36. Peter Philpott returned figures of 5-0-16-1 and Dennis Musson bowled 7-1-24-1.
Cleveland County will be out to defend the Cup at Lord’s in St. David’s on Saturday July 18th.
