Chivas Sportsperson of the Week - Week 5

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) and Chivas Regal, the leader in quality blended scotch, are delighted to announce the winner of the weekly Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award (CCSA). The BCB is very pleased to confirm that the winner of the award for Week 5 is Kijuan Franks of Flatts Victoria.

At the beginning of the game between Flatts and Cleveland on July 12th one of the Cleveland players reported an injury subsequent to the team sheet being submitted. In an act of chivalry the Flatts captain, Kijuan Franks, allowed Cleveland to replace the injured player despite the fact that the team sheet had already been provided to the umpires.

For this act of sportsmanship and encouragement for Bermuda cricketers to play within the Spirit of the Game, Kijuan Franks, of Flatts Victoria, has been selected as the Chivas Sportsman of the week.

The Chivas motto is ‘Live with Chivalry,’ and cricket is renowned for being a gentleman’s sport.

Only the best for the best, Chivas 18 is a uniquely rich and multi-layered blend that includes over twenty of Scotland's rarest single malt Scotch whiskies.

Meanwhile Makai Young has pleaded guilty to Level 1 breach of the Bermuda Cricket Board Code of Conduct, paragraph 2.1.3, Showing Dissent at an umpire’s decision.

Young has been suspended from all cricket for a period sufficient to include One Logic 50 overs match.

Based on the current schedule, Young will be eligible to play from July 20th, 2015.
