Acting captain Mark Wallace's 64 and 51 from new recruit Craig Meschede helped Glamorgan to 247/6 in their 50 overs.
Fast bowler Jack Murphy, was the pick of the Cardiff bowlers with figures of 9-0-46-4, while Leverock finished with figures of 7.3-0-40-3.
In reply Cardiff MCCU reached 200/6 with their top score of 57 coming from South African-born left-hander Neil Brand, Leverock did not bat.
Brand has played for Glamorgan and Somerset at second-team level.
Dean Cosker was Glamorgan's most successful bowler with 2 for 30 in his 10 overs, while Dewi Penrhyn-Jones also claimed two wickets.
