The St. George’s Cricket Club President Neil Paynter presented St. George’s Cricket Club and Bermuda International cricketer Christian Burgess with a cheque for $1,000.00.
The St. George’s Cricket Club recently held a fundraiser in aid of Burgess to help him with the finances he requires to fulfill the commitments ahead that include the Caribbean Premier League Franchise camp from June 13th to 18th.
Burgess was one of four Bermudian players given an opportunity in December to take part in a High Performance Camp in Barbados run by ICC High Performance Officer Tom Evans.
Burgess is expecting to spend a week training alongside the likes of Kevin Pietersen and Darren Sammy.
The week-long training camp that Burgess has been invited to participate in will run from June 13 to 18, with the league taking place from June 21 to July 26.
