Cup Match 2012 Stats and Facts
Cup Match 2012 is history with Somerset Cricket Club winning the coveted cup for the first time in ten years.

To the game and the stats, a total of 601 runs were scored with 29 wickets falling over 13 hours of play. Seventeen wickets fell to catches, seven were bowled, there was two run outs, and two LBW decisions and one stumped.

Only two half centuries was scored, with St. George’s Cricket Club player Glenn Blakeney scoring 68, while Somerset Cricket Club Captain Jekon Edness scored 57 before having to retire with cramp.

Only one player scored in the forties, with that being St. George’s Cricket Club colt Treadwell Gibbons Jr. while Chris Douglas was the only player to score in the thirties he scored 33 in Somerset Cricket Club’s first innings.

Blakeney scored the most runs in the classis with a combined knock of 69, Gibbons Jr. scored 59, Edness had 57, while Douglas had a combined score of 56.

Lionel Cann can up one run shy of the 1,000 run mark for his Cup match career, while Janeiro Tucker took his Cup Match career total to 1,270 runs, still 87 runs behind Charlie Marshall. Blakeney took his personal Cup Match account to 629 runs.

The four colts in the match combined to score 110 runs, Gibbons Jr. had the 59, Tre Manders scored 29, Greg Maybury scored 15 and Kyle Hodsoll scored 7. They also combined for 7 wickets, Maybury finished with game figures of 14.2-4-45-5, while Kyle Hodsoll bowled 9-0-51-2.

Gibbons and Jason Anderson from St. George’s Cricket Club had the game’s biggest partnership stand of 57, while Terryn Fray and Douglas from Somerset Cricket Club recorded a partnership of 48, Fray and Stephen Outerbridge added 44 and a partnership of 43 between captain Edness and Manders was the third highest.
