St. George's Cup Match Captain Has Surgery

Oronde Bascome
IslandStats.com
Reports have reached www.islandstats.com that the St. George’s Cup Match captain Oronde Bascome has recently had an emergency appendix operation.

Appendicitis is one of the most common causes of emergency abdominal surgery. It usually occurs when the appendix becomes blocked by feces, a foreign object, or rarely, a tumor.

It is unknown the state of Bascome when the surgery was needed, however if your appendix is removed before it ruptures, you will likely get well very soon after surgery. If your appendix ruptures before surgery, you will probably recover more slowly, and are more likely to develop an abscess or other complications.

The pace of recovery during the appendectomy recovery period is likely to depend on the patient's overall health. The time frame during which care is to be taken is usually between 10 and 28 days. Young children usually need care for a longer duration. Those who are 10 years and younger and may need three weeks to recover. Patients can expect to resume their normal activities about 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. Cases where the appendix has burst are more serious, and may call for longer surgery and extended recovery time. Good care during this period is of utmost importance and can result in a patient returning to normal life without having to make changes to their diet, exercise or lifestyle.

We await a further update from St. George’s Cricket Club officials on the Cup Match Captain, once we get the update we will bring it to you.
