Carey's Injury Another Blow To Flatt's Victoria

While Flatt’s Victoria continue their bid to get what they deem as fair justice for an incident that took place on May 6th, they have been struck by another major blow.

The First Division League Leaders promising youngster Dajon Carey will miss a substantial amount of this season after being involved in an accident on Monday.

Carey was returning home when a car travelling in the opposite direction struck him breaking his pinky finger on his right hand.

Carey said, “When it happened, I thought I could shake it off, but when I looked down at my hand I realized that my finger was not supposed to look like it did.”

“I just got an update from the Fracture Clinic, that I should be out of the cast and splint by July 18th and with Flatt’s due to play their Eastern County match on the 21st, I am being realistic and saying I will not be able to make that game,” Carey continued.

Carey has scored the second most runs for Flatt’s thus far this season with a total of 128, he is also the team’s and leagues leading wicket taker claiming 11 scalps.

Carey continued, “We have had a good start to the season, with the suspensions and my injury just puts a damper on things for now, but I think we have what it takes to stay focused and gain promotion and also win the Eastern County Cup.”

“We have a good mixture of youth and experience in the team and I think all the players now believe in their own ability of getting the job done, we all must just stay the course,” concluded Carey.
