Rolfe Commissiong has announced that Bermuda Health Care Services has taken over the rights to the Cup Match Classic Safe Hands Award. The award goes to the player chosen by a body of judges as the best fielder over the course of the two day Cup Match Classic. The Safe Hand Award had its inaugural year in 1998, and over the intervening sixteen years has become an eagerly anticipated feature of the Classic. Commissiong stated that he was very happy that Bermuda Health Care Services – a long time sponsor – has taken over the award as this will ensure that the Safe Hands Award enjoys sustained success into the foreseeable future. The original concept was always about giving something back; firstly to the players and also to the fans, both of whom have given so much to the Classic and made it the iconic and prestigious event on the Bermuda sporting and cultural calendar that it has become today. We are confident that BHCS will maintain that commitment over the coming years and decades to come.
