With the 2013 U.S. Open set to Tee Off, we can report that Local Golfer Eric West finished 9th in a Orlando, Florida Qualifying Event at the Shingle Creek Golf Club.
West shot a 1-under par 71 and missed out on qualifying for the next round by one stroke.
Brandyn Schneider shot a 7-under 65 to win medalist honors at Shingle Creek. Xiongyi Zhao of China shot a 67 good enough for second. Zhao plays over in China and Europe. He last played in the Volvo China Open where he missed the cut. Christopher Ross, Jong Yoon and Patrick Sweeny all shot 70 and had to win a playoff to advance. Phil Eich and Josh Pisarri are first and second alternates both shot 70.
