2013 Hiscox Celebrity Cricket Festival

The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) and Hiscox, the specialist insurer jointly announced plans for the 2013 Hiscox 11 & Under Celebrity Cricket Festival.

The Festival is designed to celebrate community based youth cricket and to raise money for the BCB National Academy. This year, the Festival will take place on Saturday 8 June at the National Sports Centre, North Field. This event was recognized by the ICC as the Best Spirit of Cricket Initiative in 2012.

The line-up for Saturday is as follows:
8&Under League, and bouncy castle & games opening at 9:30am
Free BBQ lunch & T-shirt stall opens 12pm
Celebrities vs. 11 & Under All Star Team – 1pm start

Celebrity Team: Premier Cannonier, Governor Fergusson and Mrs. Fergusson, Deputy Premier Michael Dunkley, Minister of Community and Cultural Development, Wayne Scott, Minister of the Environment, Sylvan Richards, US Consulate General, Bob Settje, Hiscox CEO, Jeremy Pinchin, Tyler & Spencer Butterfield, Power Girl, Nadanja Bailey, Jay & Justin Donowa, Mikeala Pearman, Nikita Robinson, D’Vario Thompson, Bruce Barritt, Stephen Outerbridge and more …

There will be free children’s entertainment during the day including face painting, tattooing, bouncy castle, sports games and slide. Lunch and free t-shirts will be provided for the first 350 to attend.

Jeremy Pinchin, Chief Executive Officer, Hiscox Bermuda said, “We are extremely proud to continue our support of youth cricket and delighted to be hosting the fifth Hiscox U11 Celebrity Cricket Festival. With the Under 11's leading the annual contest by 3-1, the celebrities are thirsting for revenge and have recruited some top celebrities and cricketers in the reinsurance industry to up the ante! We hope the community will come out and celebrate a great occasion for youth cricket and enjoy the family festivities.”

This year we have some exciting raffle prizes including a fabulous $500 travel voucher courtesy of Watlington & Conyers and a two-night stay at Grotto Bay Hotel. The money raised from the raffle will go towards the National Youth Academy which provides talented young cricket players with a comprehensive program to enable them to develop into well-rounded members of the community.

Marlene Pearce, Manager of Watlington & Conyers says “We are delighted to support the BCB and their continuous efforts to design youth cricket programs that empower Bermuda’s young talent, while endorsing a more cohesive community.”

Lloyd Fray, President of the Bermuda Cricket Board, stated, “2013 marks the fifth Hiscox Under 11 Celebrity Cricket Festival in which Hiscox Insurance Ltd. joins forces with the BCB to hold a Celebrity Cricket Festival to celebrate youth cricket. I would like to take this time to thank Hiscox and all the supporters of the event including Barritts, Goslings, Watlington & Conyers, Undervover Tent Rentals Grotto Bay, B Fit Personal Training, Bursalon, Strands, Red Steak House, Tribe Road Kitchen and Frameworks.
