Following the Schroders Summer Age Championships the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association have announced that a total of 27 Short Course records were broken over the 4 day meet. Today we bring you the new records of the Girls 13 - 14 Age Group Record Holders
Shannon Hassell is the new record holder of the 800m Freestyle after touching the wall in a time of 9:49.84, breaking Eleanor Gardner’s record of 10:00.59 set on December 3rd, 2005.
Hassell also holds the 400m Freestyle record with a new time of 4:45.81, breaking Ashley Yearwood’s record of 4:46.90 set on June 6th, 2008.
Hassell broke Madelyn Moore’s record of 1:09.32 set on May 19th, 2013 in the 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:08.79.
Moore set a new 50m Backstroke record clocking 31.27, breaking Ashley Yearwood’s record of 31.33 set on July 2nd, 2009, Moore’s 100m Freestyle time of 59.46, broke Ashley Yearwood’s record of 1:01.14 set on June 7th, 2008.
Moore is now the record holder of the 50m Butterfly with a time of 30.56, breaking Ashley Aitken’s record of 30.85 set on June 1st, 1999, Moore also set a new 50m Freestyle record clocking 27.34, breaking Ashley Aitken’s record of 27.46 set on August 1st, 1999.
Moore’s 100m Backstroke time of 1:09.32, broke Shannon Hassell’s record of 1:09.57 set on June 10th, 2012 and then Moore broke the 50m Freestyle record clocking 26.93, breaking her own record of 27.34 set on May 19th, 2013
The new record holders of the 4x50 Freestyle Relay are Moore, D’Andra Seymour, Jessie Thomas and Hassell who clocked 1:57.43, breaking the record of 2:00.27 set by Rebecca Heyliger, Nicole Yearwood, Rachel Petty and Morgan Hopkins on February 3rd, 2007.
Hassell, Paige Bruton, Jessie Thomas and Moore are the 4x50m Medley Relay record holders with a time of 2:13.66, breaking their own record of 2:16.49 set on April 27th, 2013.
