Bermuda Basketball Association's CellOne Elite City League season continued with a doubleheader with the Robin Hood Warriors taking on the Trinity Sound Lions. The Robin Hood Warriors did just enough to defeat the Trinity Sound Lions, 48-37. The Robin Hood Warriors were led in scoring by John Lee who scored 13 points, fresh off of National Team duty, while Reggie Tolosa led all scorers with 15 for the Trinity Sound Lions.
The Trinity Sound Lions are still looking for their first win, but were able to put together an entire game where they competed from beginning to end. The season is a third of the way through and the Trinity Sound Lions need to start stringing some wins together if they plan to make the playoffs. Trinity Sound Lion management still remains hopeful that his team will find the winning formula.
The second game pitted the Storm against the Bluebirds. Both teams were fresh off of losses and looking to get back to their winning ways. For the early parts of the first half it was a seesaw battle, but as the half went on, the Storm started to put some distance between the two sides. The Storm continued this momentum into the second half as they rained in 3 pointer after 3 pointer to create a double digit lead, which they would only relinquish with less than 2 minutes remaining. The final score saw the Storm come out on top 54 – 47 over the Bluebirds. Young Donovan Livingston led the Storm with 18 points, while Te'Jour Riley was high man for Bluebirds with 17.
The defending champion Bluebirds have now lost 2 in a row, and the question now remains to be answered is could this be a sign for the remainder of the league or is it too early to tell?
