While the Bermuda National Cricket coach David Moore was sending out an email to members and friends involved in the Bermuda Cricket Board National Academy Program, Bermuda’s opponents the United States of America are moving forward.
After a month of Regional trials across the nation, the United States of America Cricket Association (USACA), announced that it has sent letters of invitation to 24 players to attend its Inaugural Under 19 Combine to be held in Florida from May 31st to June 2nd.
The Combine is one component of the USA National Under 19 Team preparation for ICC Americas Under 19 Tournament to be held in Toronto, Canada from July 7th to 15th. Participating countries are USA, Canada and Bermuda. The winner automatically advances to Under 19 ICC 2014 World Cup to be held in UAE.
Moore wrote, “I am writing to inform you that the Bermuda Cricket Board will not be renewing my contract and therefore I will be leaving the Island.”
“I would like to say that working with the players and parents at the Bermuda Cricket Board National Academy has been one of the highlights of my coaching career that spans across Australia, the Caribbean and Bermuda. To work with youngsters full of ability and commitment makes coaching very pleasurable. The boys are a reflection on you and therefore a credit to you,” said Moore.
