Antwan Russell, Dante Leverock and Lejuan Simmons’ Ilkeston FC have added another hugely-attractive fixture to their pre-season calendar with Championship near-neighbors Nottingham Forest heading for the New Manor Ground.
It was announced that an all-ticket game with Premier League Chelsea has been arranged for Tuesday July 30th and that will be preceded by a clash with Nottingham Forrest on Saturday July 13th.
The game will act as an ideal preparation for both Ilkeston and the City Ground side, bossed by Billy Davies, as they build-up to the respective starts of their 2013-14 campaigns in August.
“We are really fortunate to have such a good relationship with Nottingham Forest. We hosted the reserve team matches at the New Manor Ground two years ago and have had a number of players on loan from them,” said Ilkeston manager Kevin Wilson.
“Billy Davies has been a good friend to Ilkeston FC and Forest has always been quick to help out whenever we ask. I’m very grateful to them for agreeing to come for the pre-season game and I'm sure it will attract a big crowd.”
