Jonathan Herring and Karen Smith are the 2013 Catlin National Olympic Distance Triathlon Champions after racing at Southside.
Herring crossed the line in a time of 2:07:28, while Smith finished 11th overall clocking a time of 2:21:56.
Herring was second out of the water clocking 21:43, Lisa Blackburn was the first swimmer out of the water with a time of 21:00. Herring then went to the front recording the 4th fastest bike time of 1:04:36, he then had the 3rd fastest run time of 40:14
Tucker Murphy finished second with an overall time of 2:11:50 and Mark Wilcox finished 3rd in a time of 2:14:03.
Smith came out of the water 6th one minute and forty-four seconds behind the Women’s leader Belinda Castree who was out of the water third, Smith made her move on the bike going to the front on the last lap and then ran to victory. Laurie Orchard finished as the second female finisher clocking a time of 2:24:03 and Castree was the third female finisher with a time of 2:31:25.
