The Bermuda Basketball Association’s CellOne Elite City League Season continued with a double header inside the Somersfield Academy School Gymnasium.
The Fort Knox Panthers jumped out to an early lead going on to defeat the Storm 82 – 54 in game one. Ronnie Bushner and Kevin Stephens started the game with hot shooting in the first half scoring 16 and 9 respectively for Fort Knox, while Steven Simons scored 18 first half points keeping the Storm in the game with the teams locked at 39-39 at the break. The second half saw the Storm cool off and the Panthers got red hot scoring 43 points in the second half which saw Bushner score 12 second half points making him the game high scorer with 28 points. Simons scored 6 points in the half giving him a team high 23 for the Storm.
Game 2 saw the defending Champions The Bluebirds continue their winning formula as they handed the Robin Hood Warriors their second loss this season. Both teams got off to a slow start but that wouldn't last as the Bluebirds started rolling and pacing the game in their favor, as Tejour Riley scored 9 points in the first half while Mike Smith and Dion Easton scored 6 points apiece. Robin Hood had Kellen Beckham's 8 points and Nate Holland's 7 points keeping their team within 6 at the half. The second half saw Smith and Easton handle the scoring load for the defending champions with 11 and 10 points, while Beckham and Holland went for 9 and 8 points in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Bluebirds defeated Robin Hood by a score of 53 -46.
