Acting Premier, the Hon. Michael Dunkley, welcomed the ICC President Alan Isaac during a special press event at the Cabinet Office. Also in attendance was the Minister of Community and Cultural Development, the Hon. Wayne Scott, Lloyd Fray, the President of the Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB).
During the gathering the Acting Premier made two presentations the Lifetime Service Award to legendary sportsman, Gary Fray for his years of service to cricket development in Bermuda and; the Best Spirit of Cricket Initiative Award to Hiscox Insurance CEO, Jeremy Pinchin for his company’s support of the sport locally. In fact, 2012 was the fourth year that the BCB joined forces with the Hiscox Insurance Limited to hold a Celebrity Cricket Festival to celebrate youth cricket.
This year over $1,500 was raised at the Festival as it brought together both community and youth.
The Acting Premier thanked the ICC President for visiting Bermuda to see firsthand the Island’s cricketing product and was encouraged by the feedback received by Mr. Isaac.
