University of Georgia graduate Brendon Todd is in a three-way tie for the lead in Athens, Georgia, which should set up for an entertaining second round at the Stadion Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
Todd, Rafael Echenique and Whee Kim all shot opening rounds of 5-under par 66’s, Michael Sims shot an opening round Even Par 72 to end the day T38th.
Sims started out on the Back Nine with three consecutive Pars, which was followed by a Birdie on the par three 13th. Sims then ran off three consecutive Pars, before recording his second Birdie of the round on the par five 17th, Sims then had a Par on the 18th to make the turn at 2-under par.
Following an par on the first, Sims recorded a Bogey on the par four 2nd, Sims then registered five consecutive Pars, before a Bogey on the par 3 8th to move back to Even Par. Sims closed out his round with a Par on the ninth.
