Micah Franklin played his First Round match of the 2013 Ipswich Open where he was put up against Declan James who is ranked 110th in the world and the 4th seed for this tournament.
Despite putting up his best effort Franklin went down in straight sets 11-3, 11-8, 11-2 in 40 minutes.
Franklin said, “I felt good on the court tonight and thought I was playing some good length and long traditional rallies, just struggled to get on the end of them.”
“I’m taking good things from the match and will be working on the aspects of my game which I feel need improvements before I head to Australia next week,” concluded Franklin.
