Ebonie Burgess fires an impressive 6-under 66 and Jarryd Dillas recorded a 2-under 68 to set the pace in the first round of the Public Links Championship at Ocean View today.
Men’s Gross Division
The reigning Bermuda Open and 5 time Match Play Champion Dillas continued his fine form and sets the pace in the first round of the 2nd Annual Public Links Championship posting five Birdies and three Bogeys on his way to a 2 under 68 and a seven shot lead going into round two at Port Royal tomorrow. In second place is Jerome Bradshaw on 5-over after his respectable 75 with Bill Pitt returning to tournament golf in third place on 6-over 76.
Women’s Gross Division
Burgess hit form today and recorded a brilliant 6-under 66 in her first round to take a commanding 12 shot lead going into the final round tomorrow. Her scorecard consisted of 6 Birdies and no Bogeys. In second place is Katyna Rabain after her round of 6-over 78. One shot back in third is Ann Symonds at 7-over 79.
Seniors Gross Division
Craig Christensen continued his fine form and sits atop the leader board in the Seniors Division after his round of even par 70 gives him a 6 shot lead going into Port Royal tomorrow. Hot on his heels is 4 time Gosling’s Invitational Senior Champion, Jeffrey Lindo after his 6-over 76 puts him into second place by one over Richard Jones who posted a 7-over 77.
Men’s Net Division
Jerome Bradshaw is leading the net division with a 5-under 65. In second place is Walter Jackson on 2-under and Bill Pitt in third place at 1 under 69.
Women’s Net Division
Burgess leads the Net Division at 10-under after her 62, Donna Jones however is only 5 shots back on 5-under with Katyna Rabain and Sylvia Tavares tied for third on 4-under. This will be a hotly contested Division as a player cannot win both the Gross and Net prize.
Seniors Net Division
Craig Christensen has a slim 3 shot lead in the Net Division after his 63 leaves him on top with a 7-under total. Richard Jones is in second on 4-under after his 66 with Steven Hickmott hanging onto third with a 1-over 71.
