The Women in Sports Expo Banquet got underway at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess with a room full of Women athletes that included World Champions, Olympians, Commonwealth and Carifta competitors.
Lisa Leslie was the guest speaker, but everyone in attendance spent time talking to one another just sharing their Sporting and life experiences.
Debbie Jones-Hunter the evening MC, welcomed everyone and set the tone for a wonderful night, noticeably absent though was all but one other media which really highlights the significant fact the Women in Sports getting less and less coverage.
Vice President of Group Insurance, the Argus Group Michelle Jackson thanked everyone for coming out to support such a wonderful event and reiterated Argus’ support for the event.
ESPN’s Bonnie Bernstein took time out of her busy schedule to come to Bermuda and share her experiences and is looking forward to the Expo to deliver her message.
2012 Olympians and Paralympians, Arantxa King, Jenaya Wade-Fray, Jessica Lewis and Anjali Forber-Pratt all sat at a table sharing the experiences of London last year.
Triathlete Chrissie Wellington shared stories with former Olympian Paula Lewin, Lisa Blackburn and Teresa Perrozi.
Bermuda National Athletic Association President Donna Watson and Bermuda Olympic Association President Judy Simons both were ecstatic with how the night went and are looking forward to the Expo.
