 Richard Austin IslandStats.com Two days after www.islandstats.com reported that Roger Dill and Steven Douglas were announced as umpires of the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 Tournament, the Bermuda Cricket Board have released two other umpires will also play a part in the tournament which gets underway on Sunday April 28th.
Dill, Douglas, as well as Richard Austin and Kent Gibbons have been selected to officiate at the event, which is the first time in seven years, over 19 different tournaments, that four umpires from the same country have stood together at one tournament.
The quartet's selection, an achievement that no other country has ever come close to matching, highlights the continued international quality of members of the Bermuda Cricket Umpires Association.
Dill and Douglas will stand as umpires on the field, while Austin and Gibbons have been appointed as reserve (third) umpires.
Bermuda Cricket Board president Lloyd Fray said he was delighted at the historical achievement, and was quick to praise the group's high standard of umpiring.
“On behalf of the board, I am delighted that four of our local umpires have been selected to officiate during the World Cricket League to be hosted in Bermuda, said the president."
"I would like to congratulate Dill, Douglas, Austin and Gibbons for this outstanding achievement."

Bermuda Cricket Umpires Association President Walisfort Manders said, "The trust that the ICC has placed in our local umpires indicates that our umpiring product continues to be of superlative standard. Our investment in training and development is justly reaping the returns and we look forward to the ICCs support in these endeavors in the future."
Bermuda will host the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 from April 28 to May 6. Teams involved include Oman, Italy, Nepal, USA, Bermuda and Uganda. Matches will be held at the National Sports Center, St. David’s Cricket Club and Somerset Cricket Club.
