Gavin Manders and his Sportsmen's Tennis & Enrichment Center Tennis teammates defeated Lakeville Athletic Club 3 – 1 at the Lakeville Athletic Club.
Manders playing in the number one Singles spot defeated Aaron Petruski in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
Manders then teamed up with Nigel Griffith and they defeated Phil Kadesch and Chris Santos who had not been defeated in over a year in three sets. Manders and Griffith won the first set 6-4, but fell by the same score in the second set. Mander and Griffith won the third set tie-breaker 1 – 0.
Manders said, “This league is providing great training for Davis Cup as I play Singles and then go straight back on for Doubles just as Davis Cup works.”
“I am still struggling with my movement in Singles but I feel like my body is starting to make adjustments naturally now I am making progress everyday and I’m positive I will be ready to compete at a high level this summer,” concluded Manders.
