In its third year running, the Bermuda Basketball Association (BBA) is bringing to you the CellOne Elite City League (ECL) starting May 4th, 2013.
The ECL is revolutionary in the fact that the league is run very similar to a professional league. The top 72 players on island made available via a draft, where coaches pick players that will fit into their expected playing style. Not only are teams playing to win each year, but attempting to keep their roster in check through Draft, Trades, & fFree Agencies.
With each year comes new challenges and opportunities. This year the BBA have challenged the coaches by having them protect 5 core players and rebuild the rest of their roster through the draft. The two-time defending champion, Bluebirds, look to go for a three-peat. The other 5 teams are playing catch-up, but the Bluebirds are the clear cut favorite at this point.
This season the BBA are pleased to have CellOne as their premiere sponsor. The league will once again take place at Somersfield Academy and will now include entertainment services by Trinity Sound. There are still openings for individual teams sponsorship.
