Micah Franklin took to the Squash Court for his First Round Qualifying match in the 2013 Rochester ProAm PSA Tournament.
Franklin took on Luke Butterworth from England who has a World Ranking of 197.
Franklin won the first match 13-11, but Butterfield leveled the match at 1-1 after winning the second match 11-6. Franklin would got back in front winning the third match 11-8, but yet again Butterfield would level the match winning the fourth set 11-2 sending it to a fifth and final game.
The fifth match saw Franklin win a marathon 11-9 to win the match overall 3 – 2 in 78 minutes.
Following the match Franklin said, “It was the hardest I’ve ever had to push in a match to win considering I was struggling with a horrible chest cough and difficult court conditions, nonetheless I am ecstatic to make it through.”
