Gavin Manders and his Sportsmen's Tennis & Enrichment Center teammates winning ways continued with a 4 – 0 win over Weymouth Club in Central Massachusetts Indoor Tennis Association Men's A League action.
The win moved Manders and his team up one more spot in the standings following their defeat of the League Leaders.
Manders is undefeated since joining the club with a 4 & 0 record, winning both Singles matches and winning both Doubles matches.
Manders defeated Viboosh Chandrasekar , the 6th ranked player Massachusetts in straight sets Singles action 6-3, 6-1, he then teamed up with Robert Forrester to take on Richard Shea and Richard Lee.
The Doubles was a tight match, the rules are a little different as it goes by overall games and its timed, so whoever has the most games at the end of the time wins.
Manders and Forrester lost the first set 6-3, but they bounced back to win the second 6-0 to lead 9-6 after two sets, Manders and Forrester were down 5-3 in the third set when time expired to win the game 12-11.
Manders said, “I'm feeling pretty good under the circumstances with my foot and shoulder. Movement is definitely limited but my game is coming back to me, it just feels good to be out there on the court again.”
