Sweden’s Richard Johnson, New Zealand’s Danny Lee and Tom Hoge of the United States all posted 6-under 65’s to share the First-Round lead at the inaugural Brazil Classic presented by HSBC.
Michael Sims shot an Opening Round 4-over par 75 and finished the day T128th.
Sims started out on the back nine and following a Par on the tenth, Sims recorded a Triple Bogey on the par 4 eleventh to fall to 3-over par.
Following a par on the 12th, Sims fell to 4-over after he shot a Bogey on the 13th, back to back pars on 14 & 15 saw him remain at 4-over, but he then fell to 5-over par with a Bogey on the 16th. Sims recorded his first Birdie of his round on the par five 17th to move to 4-over par, but a Bogey on the 18th saw Sims make the turn at 4-over par.
On the Front Nine Sims started out with four consecutive pars before he had back to back Birdies on the 5th and 6th to move to 3-over par, but a Bogey on the 7th moved him back to 4-over. Sims closed out his round with back to back Pars.
