Haley Powell’s and her Roger Williams University Sailing teammates attended five regattas across New England and coming home with a win.
Roger Williams University placed sixth out of nine teams at the Joseph Duplin Trophy, hosted by Tufts University, with a record of seven wins and five losses. Roger Williams University was represented by skippers Rachel Perry, Powell and Annie Schmidt, along with crew members Sara Swanson, Jaye Fahey, and Samantha Bobo.
Roger Williams University went 4-4 in the first round robin action, which was unfortunately not enough to earn a spot in the gold round robin.
Roger Williams University nearly took the consolation round with a record of 3-1, coming up just one win shy of beating the 4-0 Brown University Bears. The Yale University Bulldogs took home the Joseph Duplin Trophy with a record of 12-2, followed by the Boston College Eagles with a record of 11-3.
