Michaiah Robinson and Dage Minors both qualified for their 800m Finals after running Heats in the morning on Day Two of the CARIFTA Games in Bahamas, but the night belonged to Zakiyyah Showers, who captured Bermuda’s third Medal of the games when she finished third in the Girls 3000 Meter Run crossing the line in a time of 11:30.06.
Running in Heat One of the Under 17 Boys 800m finished second with a time of 2:01.13, while Minors clocked a time of 1:56.96 in the Under 20 Boys 800m Heat One race and finished second.
Bermuda’s only other athlete competing this morning was Tiara DeRosa who’s finished 7th in the Under 17 Girls Discus Throw with a top toss of 33.15m.
In the Under 17 Boys 3000 Meter Run Daniel Oatley finished 4th clocking a time of 10:02:75, while Bruce DeGrilla finished 8th in the Under 20 Boys Long Jump with a top leap of 7.06m. 9 Naquan Smith finished 9th in the Under 20 Boys Javelin Throw with a toss of 43.31m.
Jah-Nhai Perinchief, finished 7th in the Under 17 Boys High Jump with a top leap of 1.90m.
