ABC Football School C Licenses Course

Jacques Crevoisier
IslandStats.com
The third annual ABC Football School C Licenses course, open to all Bermuda football coaches and PE teachers, will run from April 16 to April 24, 2013.

ABC in cooperation with Jacques Crevoisier is set to publish its fourth and final book about Bermuda football coaching, with the release of Coaching U16 to U18 including Seniors Coaching manual scheduled for April 16.

ABC Football School in cooperation with Jacques Crevoisier and the Scottish FA
will offer a full UEFA B license course in Bermuda, starting September 2013.

Following the successful examination of 24 youth football coaches in September 2012, earning them the first ABC C Diplomas, and the subsequent 10 coaches who are on track to receive their C Diplomas this coming April, ABC Football School together with Jacques Crevoisier, and in collaboration with the BFA, is happy to offer its C license program from April 16 to April 24, 2013. The first 20 hours of the course will be held at Cedarbridge Academy and the BFA turf field, on a daily basis, between 6:00-8:00pm. The course is open to all Bermuda football coaches and PE teachers, and is fully recognized by the BFA to satisfy both its level D and C requirements. 100% attendance is required to pass the course.

“As part of the MOU we signed with the BFA in September 2012, we have worked closely with their Player Development Committee to align our coaching courses to meet the needs of the Bermuda coaches”, says Henrik Schroder of ABC Football School. He goes on to say: “We are really happy to be part of this effort to bring state of the art coaching to the Bermuda football community. As you know, we are staunch believers that the development of the sport and its players starts and stops with the coaches. We encourage all coaches to join in, and by offering both the diploma, which requires a successful completion of a test and assessment, and the license which only requires participation without test and assessment, everybody should feel compelled to do it.”

The C licenses course is fully recognized and endorsed by the BFA, and will qualify the coaches under the Bermuda ‘ABCD’ licensing scheme for level ‘D’ or ‘C’, depending on if they are going for the Diploma or Certificate. The first 20 hours will be conducted during these upcoming sessions and the remaining 20 hours, plus the exam, will be continued in September 2013, prior to the football season commencing.

ABC Football School together with Jacques Crevoisier has produced all the material for the C license course, and we are happy to announce the publishing of the last of the four handbooks and manuals, called U16 to U18, including seniors, Coaching Handbook. As with the previous books; Grassroots to U10 Coaching Handbook and the U12 to U14 Coaching Handbook, this book provides the coach with the full layout and structure of an entire season, from pre-season, to post-season, including individual session plan and drills. All based on the latest international trends for progression based development of players, emphasizing technical and tactical development in an age appropriate setting and execution.

“ We coaches must take responsibility for the state of our sport” Andrew Bascome points out. He goes on, “however, lack of resources, licensing courses or coaching instructors have always required us to travel off the island to get educated, making it more difficult to seek proper education. As of today, that will be something of the past. We are now on track with the first 50 coaches to receive the ABC C license, all conducted in Bermuda.
