Tyler Butterfield has finished 10th in the Urban Hotel Group IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship Melbourne with a time of 8:02:06. Horrendous conditions greeted competitors at Frankston for the swim, which was reduced to half the distance (1.9km) as swimmers battled big swells. Australian professional competitors, more familiar to open water conditions, made the initial push out of the swim before a group of race favorites formed by the end of the first lap.
Butterfield covered the 1.9km Swim with the 25th fastest time of 24:58, he then road the 180km Bike Course recording the 6th fastest time of 4:31.59, Butterfield then closed out with the 10th fastest 42.2km Run Course time of 3:04:41.
