Man of the Match
IslandStats.com
Bermuda Win by 6 Wickets

Suriname 138/8 Bermuda 142/4

Bermuda’s second game of the ICC America’s Division One Twenty20 Tournament pitted them against Suriname.

Suriname won the toss and elected to bat, it had been raining and the outfield was saturated, however all indications were that the wicket was in good condition at the Central Broward Regional Park and Stadium.

Bermuda fielded an unchanged lineup from the victory over The Bahamas in their first game. Bermuda Team: Stephen Outerbridge, Jekon Edness, Malachi Jones, David Hemp, Lionel Cann, Greg Maybury, Dion Stovell, Rodney Trott, Tre Manders, Janeiro Tucker, Jacobi Robinson, Reserve Dennico Hollis, Sammy Robinson and Jason Anderson

Bermuda restricted Suriname to 138/8 in their 20 overs, Shazam Ramjohn was their top scorer with 42 off 25 deliveries, while Rodney Trott was the pick of the Bermuda bowlers returning figures of 4-1-17-3. Malachi Jones and Janeiro Tucker grabbed a wicket each as Suriname had 3 run outs in their inning.

In reply Bermuda scored 142/4 in 18.4 overs, Tucker was the top scorer with 65 off 30 deliveries, Tucker hit four 4’s and six 6’s, captain Stephen Outerbridge added 29 from 31 and David Hemp scored 22 from 29.

Interim National coach Arnold Manders would be hoping that the team could avoid the possibility of losing out on six overs of dot balls as they did today.

“Tomorrow we have Cayman and United States and we are hoping to continue our winning ways as these games are going to be important to our bid to advance,” said Manders. The ICC announced Tucker as the Man of the Match, for his knock of 65 not out and his 1 wicket for 26 runs.
