Sprinting, as expected, will highlight the first day of CARIFTA 2013 competition, March 30th, at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium. The rest of the schedule, of course, promises much excitement also. It is evident that despite some underlying questionable situations the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) faced, the enthusiasm for the confrontations on the track and the infield is building. It is time now, to focus on the competition, with the hope of Team Bahamas living up to expectations. On Day One, the 100 meters Heats for Under-20 Girls and Boys and Under-17 Girls and Boys, Hurdles pentathlon for Girls and Hurdles Heptathlon for Boys, 400m Heats and Semi-Finals for Girls and Boys, High Jump and Shot Putt for Under-17 Girls, Discus for Under-20 Boys, Javelin for Under-17 Boys, Pentathlon Girls Shot Putt and Heptathlon Boys Long Jump will complete the morning session. The Day One second session will begin with the 100m Semi-Finals in all of the categories, plus Pentathlon Girls High Jump, Under-20 Girls Shot Putt, Boys Heptathlon Javelin and Under-17 Boys Triple Jump. Those events will be the collective prelude to 1,500m Finals in all categories, 400m Finals in all categories, Under-20 Boys High Jump and Under-20 Girls Long Jump, Boys Heptathlon 200m, 100m Finals for Under-17 Girls and Boys and Under-20 Girls and Boys.
