Rachel Barnes feels her season with her Bowdoin Women's Squash teammates will assist her in the upcoming Digicel National Squash Championships.
Barnes said, “I am in the best shape of my career ad I am not looking to see who I am playing, I just want to make sure that I keep my game together and things will take care of itself.”
Barnes will have her hands full in the Ladies Division as the defending champion Laura Robinson will be looking to retain her title, while Susie Lacey, Denise Kyme, Liz Martin, Jane Chapman and Loan Khalil are in the field. This year sees the first opportunity for new BSRA Assistant Director and National Coach Runa Reta to compete in the championships. Reta is a former World #29, Canadian National Champion and Pan Am Games Gold Medalist and is firm favorite for a first Ladies Title.
