As we countdown to the 2013 CARIFTA Games in The Bahamas, www.islandstats.com will be spotlighting the Athletes who will represent Bermuda. We begin today with Quinn Simmons, Born January 3rd, 1996
Q. How did you first get involved in Track and Field? A. When I went to Whitney Middle School I use to do a lot of sports my former principal Dr. Freddy Evans got me into track with Mr. Bean & D.A.S.H Track Club.
Q. Did you have a particular Track idol? A. My Track & Field idol is Yohan Blake
Q. When did you realize that you wanted Compete Internationally? A. I realized that I wanted to compete Internationally when I competed in Carifta 2012 last year, I really wanted to do my country well. I really enjoyed myself.
Q. What would you describe as your strongest discipline? A. I think that my strongest discipline is a good diet and a good workout.
Q. Which do you feel needs the most improvement? A. I feel that I need to mostly improve on is my endurance.
Q. What one moment in your Sport to date are you most proud of? A. My performance at the 2012 Carifta Games I got a personal best.
Q. What are your goals for the rest of 2013? A. My Goals for the rest of 2013 is to keep improving myself.
Q. Can you give an insight into an average week of training for you? A. I train 4 times a week two days at the gym doing weights and two days at the track perfecting my throwing technique.
Q. Did you compete in the 2013 CARIFTA Games at the National Sports Center? A. Yes, I did compete in the 2012 Carift Games
Q. If yes what do you think about it? A. I think it was a great experience for me because it was my first Carifta and I got to meet a lot of new people and made new friends.
Q. What do you do when you’re not taking part in Track and Field? A. I do other sports to keep myself fit at all times.
Q. You are the president of BNAA for one day, what drastic changes do you make? A. If I was President of the BNAA I wouldn’t change a thing.
