Wells Trains Ahead of Port Vale Match

IslandStats.com
Yesterday we reported that Nahki Wells was withdrawn just before the hour mark at Bootham Crescent during the match against York City.

Wells came off after picking up a 'dead leg' early in the second half.

The injury isn't believed to be too serious but it may make him a doubt for next Tuesday's match at Port Vale.

Bradford City announced today that Wells is in contention to keep his place in Phil Parkinson's starting eleven for City's trip to Port Vale this Tuesday despite coming off early at York City at the weekend with a knock.

Wells limped off ten minutes into the second half at Bootham Crescent with a dead leg after taking a nasty whack to his left thigh.

The Bermudian shrugged off the bruising to take his part in Parkinson's pre-match planning this Monday, however, leaving City's top scorer in with a shout of staying in possession of one of the attacking spots for the Vale Park fixture.

Parkinson said: "It was nothing serious and he's trained today.

"We'll just have a look at him today and tomorrow just to make sure he is fine.

"Wells is determined to get himself going again. He hasn't quite had the rub of things for him recently but I'm sure he'll get going again this season.

"He's a young player, and to get eighteen goals so far this season is a great return for him. I'm sure that tally will have definitely increased by the end of the season."
