Anyone that was at the National Sports Center on Saturday during the Telford Electric Magic Mile would have seen what spots can do, as Elliott Primary School student Dakari Saunders who suffers from Cerebral palsy took to the Track.
Sporting a Big Smile - Saunders WOW the crowd who stood and cheered as he made his way from the 200m start, Saunders completed his desire to be a part of the event, proving to all in attendance that nothing is impossible.
Saunders received this standing ovation upon completion of his portion of the race.
Saunders’ dad Pete Saunders said, “My wife and I was extremely proud, he decided he wanted to take part and we said if that is what you want to do then let’s do it.”
“To see him out there was very emotional, but just to watch him will be something we will never forget.”
Cerebral palsy is a disorder that affects muscle tone, movement, and motor skills the ability to move in a coordinated and purposeful way.
