Olympic track cycling silver medalist Lauren Tamayo arrived in Bermuda in advance of the Bermuda Bicycle Association's Annual Awards Dinner on February 22nd.
Tamayo took time out to join a training session for Junior cyclists along with her medal from the 2012 London games, bring extra inspiration to the training effort.
Tamayo's Medal-winning performance came in the team pursuit, a track event where two teams of three cyclists, starting on opposite sides of the track, race for 3 kilometers.
If one team catches the other the race is over, otherwise the better time moves on in the competition.
Traveling with Lauren is her husband Mike Tamayo who is the manager of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team, a major Professional Men's team based in the US.
Coincidentally, 2012 Bermudian Paralympian Jessica Lewis was at the airport this afternoon and had a brief moment to swap tales of the Olympic Village with Tamayo.
