The Francis Marion University Men’s Tennis team captured their NCAA Division II match over Neal Towlson and his Wingate University Men’s Tennis Teammates. Francis Marion claimed a 7-2 decisions at the Wingate University Tennis Complex.
Visiting Francis Marion avenged a 5-4 loss from last season, Francis Marion swept the doubles and won two of the three three-set singles matches. Wingate junior Ryan Forbes and sophomore Towlson picked up points for Wingate.
Towlson defeated Francis Marion junior Tim Ruepke 6-1, 6-2 at the number two singles spot. Towlson has 18 dual-match singles in his Bulldog tennis career.
Towlson teamed up with Roberto Hennis in the number one doubles spot and went down 8 – 4 to Alex Caspari and Gavin Davison.
