Ashley Yearwood and her Denison University Swimming teammates sits in second place at the completion of the first days racing at the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship from C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio.
They trail first-place Kenyon by just four points, while Wittenberg ranks third with 234 points, and DePauw is fourth with 230. Denison captured three of the five event titles, with first-year student Yearwood pacing Denison with two championship victories.
Yearwood swam the first leg of the Denison Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team that touched the wall first with a time of 1:33.35, Yearwood along with Morgan Nuess, Maddie Armitage and Alyssa Swanson met the A Standard for the NCAA in the event. That win marked the sixth-straight victory in the Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle for a Denison University Relay squad.
Yearwood also won the Women’s 50 Yard Freestyle in a time of 23.65, this tie saw Yearwood meet the B Standard for the NCAA Cut.
