Wells Injured in Bradford City Draw

IslandStats.com
Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson admitted after his side's 2-2 draw at Fleetwood Town that both Nahki Wells and Rory McArdle will have to be assessed in the coming days after both players picked up injuries during the match.

McArdle appeared to suffer an ankle problem in the first half of the game at Fleetwood's Highbury Stadium, while Wells damaged his groin while stretching for the ball after the restart.

Both players tried to carry on after picking up their injuries but eventually came off, with McArdle leaving the ground on crutches and wearing a protective boot as a precaution.

When asked about the duo's injury situation post-match, Parkinson said the club should know more once both players had been properly checked over before the beginning of next week.

"Rory's ankle has swollen up," said Parkinson.

"It could be ligament damage for him, which obviously wouldn't be too good if that were the case, but we'll have to see.

"Nahki has gone in for a ball with their 'keeper (Scott Davies) and I don't know the real extent of that one just yet either.

"We should know a bit more today though when Matt (Barrass, Head Physio) gets them into the club for further checks."
