Dean Williams was returned as President of the Commercial Softball League at their Annual General Meeting recently.
Following the election of officers the following people were elected to office: Dean Williams (President), Terence Corday (Vice President), Tache King (Secretary), Danny Cook (Treasurer), Paulo Arruda (Scheduler) and Don Burgess (Public Relations Officer).
The Winter Season is expected to start on Monday, February 18th at the Michael Preece Softball Stadium.
Team registration is due by Friday, February 8th at 5pm, anyone wishing to receive registration forms may e-mail Danny Cook at dcsvos@ibl.bm to have one sent to them. The cost is $875 for co-ed teams and $825 for 5&5, men’s and women’s teams.
During the AGM the Hit and Sit Rule was discussed, this is where a batter hits a home run out of the park and immediately goes to the bench with the run(s) counting rather than having him or her round the bases. It was put in place as a time-saving measure. This is now optional as the batter can choose if they want to round the bases or go straight to the bench.
