Micah Franklin kicked off his 2013 Season in Atlanta, Georgia, Franklin competing in his first tournament of the year took on Tom Pashley of England in a Qualifying Match.
Franklin lost 3-1 to Pashley, Franklin won the first set 11-5, before Pashley won the next three sets 11 - 3, 11 - 5, 11 – 3.
Franklin said, “I had a great start to the match taking a lot early and playing confidently to win the first set. At the start of the second set my opponent stepped up his game putting me on the back foot controlling the pace from the ‘T’. From then on I struggled to control the pace and ended up getting put under a lot of pressure from my opponent, he won the next two games comfortably. Pashley is a class player and deserved to win, I wish him luck in the next round.”
