The Bermuda Bicycle Association will enter a team in the cycling competitions for the 2013 NatWest Island Games in Bermuda that will be held between July 13th and 19th.
The Bermuda Bicycle Association is now asking members who wish to be considered for the 2013 Island Games cycling team to submit their name by February 1, 2013 to president@bermudabicycle.org.
The team will be comprised of up to 5 Men to contest Road events, up to 5 Men to contest Mountain Biking events, up to 3 Women to contest Road events and up to 3 Women to contest Mountain Biking events.
The Qualification Standards set applies to this competition with the following additions specific to the Island Games 2013:-
1. Racing age in 2013 must be greater than 16 years. 2. Male athletes must be competing in the highest category of local racing (Adult A) for Road and Male A for Mountain Biking. 3. Female athletes must be competing in the second highest category of local racing (Adult B) for Road and Female B for Mountain Biking. 4. International Race results will not be required in advance of selection though the additional experience will be seen as a positive factor. 5. All athletes who have put themselves forward for consideration will automatically be identified to Bermuda Sport Anti‐Doping Authority for listing in their testing pool.
