For the 2nd straight year of their teams existence, the Montverde Academy Women’s Varsity Soccer team achieved another winning season with 19 victories and only 3 losses – surpassing last year’s fantastic inaugural season record of 14-2-1.
Seven Bermudian Female Footballers Sarai Paul, K'sheala Burch-Waldron, Jasmine Spence, Tia Sampson, Jaeda Smith, Teara Thomas and Asia Denkins all take part in the Montverde Academy team.
The team scored a remarkable 80 goals and gave up only 19 goals throughout the entire season.
Almost impressive as their successful record was the Montverde Academy’s challenging schedule against regional competition – where Montverde Academy yielded 13 shutouts and had them ranked #6 in Central Florida rankings (the highest ranking MVA girls soccer has ever had).
Montverde Academy Women’s Varsity Soccer Coach Mr. Robbie Aristodemo (also the MVA Upper School Health teacher) said, “Last season was a great start to our program, this year I wanted to up the level of competition and play the better teams in Central Florida and in Tampa. We challenged ourselves and it’s the reason why we finished with a high ranking. As we continue to build and develop we will have an opportunity to continually play the top teams in Central Florida and hopefully branch out to the top teams in the state. I was very happy with the work ethic and manner at which we competed throughout the season, it’s a credit to the kids and their focus and preparation. I am looking forward to building for next season.”
